Today is FINALLY my day to show off my flag for the Flags on a Stick Blog hop! Thanks to Thearica and Madame Samm for being our cheerleaders throughout this blog hop and for our sponsors Flags on a Stick and Flag Outlet who inspired this whole quilted flag concept!
I was really excited to join in for a couple of reasons.....
1. It's my first blog hop!
2. I had a really cute idea for a flag!
3. Who doesn't love a little outdoor décor, quilting style!?
So, being a proud Texan (Hello?? Texas Quilting Gal here!!!), I had to incorporate a little Texas love!
Also, chevrons are so popular now. I used a fun half square triangle trick that made 8 at a time from Craftsy! They were super duper quick!
I found this adorable Kate Spain stuff at Michael's and stocked up since I LOVE Kate Spain designs! There's a note pad, note cards, a fun pen and cute playing cards! Also, I'm throwing in one Sew Stitchy charm pack that I haven't gotten around to using, so your gain! (Open to US only)
The other prize is this adorable Party Dress pattern from Ginnie Kelly at Wonder Woman Quilts. I met Ginnie at a quilt retreat this month and she was such a hoot to sit next to! It was great getting to know her and seeing the beautiful work she does! She was wearing this Party Dress around her neck with quilting accessories in it throughout the weekend and we all just fell in love with it! She was so generous to offer me this pattern to give away to one of my readers! So, go check out her website (I may have some other patterns to giveaway at a future date, wink, wink!)
Don't forget to visit today's other bloggers to see what fun flags they made!

Texas Quilting Gal
From one fellow Texan to another, absolutely fabulous flag. Of course mine would be just like yours. However, I'm really from Missouri and just happen to live in Texas right now so maybe I'd make it reversible and put Missouri on the other side.
ReplyDeleteI also follow by email.
ReplyDeleteVery cute! Love the chevrons on the back. ;). I would have one of the boring states on my flag, not as fun as Texas.
ReplyDeleteLove your Texas flag! I was born and raised in California sew that would be the state I put on my flag. Thank you for joining the hop and sharing.
ReplyDeleteI just joined you via email!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your first blog hop, I did my first with the ruffles some weeks back.
ReplyDeleteI'm from Norway.
Very cute and clever flag
ReplyDeleteGreat flag. I hope you have enjoyed your first blog hop. I'm from Australia and live in the state of Victoria.
ReplyDeletewell first welcome to your first hop and perhaps you will join us again...you certainly have great pics, great stitching and a great passion to showcase..
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute idea! I have a heart for Texas since we're neighbors and since my grandparents made Texas their home for many years. But Arkansas would be on my flag. :) blessings, marlene
ReplyDeleteYour first hop, and your first wow! Love your flag! I would have to put Alabama on mine as it is where I was born and raised and hopefully moving back to in the next 5 years. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat flag...welcome to the hop!
ReplyDeleteI would have to put Missouri on my flag, as that is where we now live. Two years ago it would have been Ohio, and before that New York and New Jersey.
ReplyDeleteAm a new follower! (and thanks for the link to the Craftsy class on HSTs!)
ReplyDeleteI'm from the snowy state of Minnesota where it's still winter :( Love your flag, thank you so much for sharing your flag! Love it, I lived in Texas when I was growing up, so I have a special place in my heart for the great state of Texas :)
ReplyDeleteCalifornia, sunshine, and the beach would be on my flag.
ReplyDeleteLove your flag. Nebraska might be a little boring also.
ReplyDeleteI love your Texas flag and of course I'd fly it here in Texas where I was born and raised!!
ReplyDeleteI'm following you on Bloglovin...BTW
ReplyDeleteI love it! Such an adorable flag and those sketch prints really look perfect. I am from Virginia:) I don't think we have as much state pride as Texas, but I would totally fly this one!
ReplyDeleteI follow on Bloglovin and by email! Love your blog:)
ReplyDeletegreat flag and a nice way to show how proud you are of your home state. I am from the north ...the far north Canada where we still are in a wintery spring fresh snow this morning. thanks sew much for sharing with us today
ReplyDeleteinstitches
Of course your flag is great....says one Texas gal to another. Texas, my Texas...the land that I love !
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your first hop. They're so much fun, and a little addictive. Your flag is beautiful. I'm visiting from Newfoundland, Canada.
ReplyDeleteHowdy there. Your Texas flag is fantastic. I'm your neighbor in New Mexico.
ReplyDeleteI like how you incorporated the state of Texas as an "O". I think that helped set it off. Who cute...great idea. I am originally from PA but now live in west TN and love it! We did visie TX many years ago when our cousins lived there. We were in the Dallas / Fort Worth area. It is a beautiful state and wouldn't mind visiting it again.
ReplyDeleteYour flag is very inspiring. I love the chevron back idea. I am in tiny Massachusetts ... hmmm ... would not look much like an "o" ... maybe I could applique it on the bottom of the "L" ... make the background blue water ... that would be fun! Thanks for the idea! ... :) Pat
ReplyDeleteSo happy to see you hopping along with us. I am a new bloglovin follower ... :) Pat
ReplyDeleteMy state of Indiana would look great on your quilt. We will be celebrating 200years in 2016. On a humourous side, what a frazzled looking quilter in the "State of Confusion"?
ReplyDeleteNevada would fit in that spot of love in your beautiful flag, too! Great idea for a flag to show off our state! I'm so glad you joined in the fun of blog hopping.
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower from Louisiana - right next to you!
ReplyDeleteI love your flag.
That is so much fun! Yes, you are so right about us "square" states. LOL!! There just isn't much to the imagination with us! hahahahaha Welcome to blog hops. Hope to see much more of you! ;-)
ReplyDeleteYour flag is so fun!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect flag for a Texas girl! I'm a Texas girl too!! You did a great job!
ReplyDeleteI follow you with Bloglovin'
ReplyDeleteTexas gals really have a lot of state pride! Your flag is great! I love that HST zig-zag trick, too.
ReplyDeleteI grew up in Florida but live in Georgia now. After many years in the flat lands, we are so happy to be in the mountains (tip of Appalachia)
Well since I am from Colorado, and I agree it is a rather boring shaped state I would have to pick another state! Love your flag!
ReplyDeleteDon't give up on colorful Colorado. Try something like this for a Colorado "o." http://www.ebay.com/itm/COLORADO-Flag-Oval-Bumper-Sticker-Decal-fit-Cars-Bikes-Trucks-Laminated-/261002130268 From Cheryl's Colorado residing sister. ;)
DeleteVery cute flag. I always have a love for Texas because I always have Texas hair...lol I'd be putting a big ole Kansas on mine because Nebraska blows and Oklahoma sucks... It's always windy here. (Just kidding Nebraska and Oklahoma fans) Love the chevron back to your flag.
ReplyDeleteLove the flag especially the Texas "letter". Thanks for sharing. Susie x
ReplyDeleteYour Texas flag looks great! I'm from Alberta.
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower ☺

ReplyDeleteI'm now following you on Bloglovin
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea for a flag...(I keep humming "Deep in the heart of Texas" after seeing it. ;) My Minnesota one would need snow on it. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat job on your first blog hop!! You flag looks wonderful :)
ReplyDelete-Soma
Such a fun flag! I'm from Michigan, which would be a bit tricky to get the Lower Peninsula to match up properly with the Upper Peninsula but could end up looking fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI follow via email. Your giveaway is very generous, thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI am originally from Pennsylvania but have been living in Florida for 2 years....maybe I could make a split flag...LOL...thanks for the giveaway..
ReplyDeleteI love my South Dakota home!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute idea. I live in Iowa and that shape is close to being boring, too!! lol Who cares, it's the love that counts! I like the black/white chevrons - they really pop.
ReplyDeleteWill be signing up to follow via email. I use Feedly rather than Bloglovin.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely too cool to show your love of Texas. Neat colors and the chevrons are a neat touch.
ReplyDeleteGeorgia
ReplyDeleteLove your flag. What a great idea for the company to do one for each state maybe with state bird, flower, geographic features, etc.
ReplyDeleteI KNOW!!! That's what I was thinking! How marketable is that for them?
DeleteLove your Texas flag! Washington state is the state I'd put on the flag!
ReplyDeleteNew bloglovin follower: Nicole Sender!
ReplyDeleteLove your flag. I'd put Oklahoma on mine. I now live in Colorado and if you think the shape is boring, try living here. Only a small part is colorful (the mountainous areas) the rest is boring brown. Also the people are crazy. lol
ReplyDeleteYour flag is sew cute. I would put Iowa on mine. Thanks for the generous giveaway.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway! I was born in SD, lived much of my life in MN, am currently in PA, and spent at least 15 years overseas, so I don't know WHERE I'm from! :) sarah@forrussia.org
ReplyDeleteI am from Indonesia! My flag is red and white!
ReplyDeleteI'm in Florida, but I'll always be a New Yorker (we're sort of like Texans that way lol) Thanks for the chance to win. VermontPines at aol dot com
ReplyDeleteLove your flag! I would somehow combine a Texas and Tennessee flag as my heart is in both places.
ReplyDeleteYour flag is wonderful! I'm from Oregon. Pbstrand@msn.com
