Triangle Quilt Along

The Sassy Quilter

And we're off..... The Triangle Quilt Along has begun with Paula at The Sassy Quilter.  There's still plenty of time to join in!  We just got the cutting assignment today, so you aren't behind, yet!  Come on, you know you want to play!

This is the third QAL I've participated in this year and I'm loving the motivation they elicit.  It's also so much fun to see what fabrics everyone else uses and if they do a unique layout or some added feature in their quilt.  Everyone is so creative!

I'm using mostly Michael Miller's Midnite Gems with a little Ta Dot thrown in and some solids.  I so love jewel tones!

Here are my yummy triangles all cut up and ready to go!  All 208 of them!  :)

Stay tuned for the finished product the end of April!

Coming soon....

MY FIRST BLOG HOP!!!!

I am so excited to be participating in my very first blog hop!  Since I'm so new to blogging, I'm hoping this will bring some new quilty friends my way!  I just love the online quilting community, as everyone is so supportive and encouraging.  I've enjoyed viewing other's blogs and being inspired by them.  I've also learned so much through tutorials and tips and have even won a few happy prizes along the way!  I'm hoping to grow my blog to include some tutorials and tips, as well, soon!

And, who knows, maybe I'll even be having a little giveaway during this blog hop!  ;)

Stay tuned for this fun Flags on a Stick Blog Hop hosted by Madame Samm at Sew We Quilt, March 25-April 3

Kate Spain Charm Swap

I am so excited that I ran across a charm swap of Kate Spain's yummy fabrics!  I just adore her lines!  I'm using her Cuzco line for my Sugar Block Club (Amy Gibson's block of the month) and it's just so bright and happy!

Quilts From My Crayon Box is hosting this charm swap and since I found such a great deal on fabric online, I signed up for 2 spots!  That means, I'll be receiving 112 different pairs of fabulous Kate Spain fabrics in April!  Have I mentioned I LOOOOVE Kate Spain fabric?!?

I can't wait to get my hands on all those little charm squares!

March Goal

Babies, Babies, Babies!!!!  My best friend and my sister in law are having babies within the next month and we all know what that means!  BABY QUILTS!!!  Since, my sister in law is due within the week, I am working on hers first (yes, I'm a procrastinator!)  Her nursery is decorated based on the Beatrix Potter characters and is the sweetest room you've ever seen!  Murals and all (she has a beautiful design eye).  She found these panels online and we went fabric shopping together to make sure everything coordinated in her almost finished nursery!

I'm using the Picture Frames pattern to feature these sweet story book squares.  All I've done so far is the first border around the panel blocks.  I still have to do the frame section with the accent of blue and quilt and bind it.  This will be my March A Lovely Year of Finishes goal!

Since, I'm heading out to a 4 day quilt retreat with a quilting friend tomorrow, I'm hoping to also get my best friends baby quilt done as well.  Her colors are pink, green, and purple and I found this fun fat quarter bundle of Joel Dewberry's Heirloom in the sapphire palette.  I just LOVE Joel Dewberry, so this will be a fun one for me!  I'm still trying to decide on a pattern, but I'm thinking it will be something like Amy Smart's Lattice Quilt.

ANY IDEAS FOR A FAT QUARTER FRIENDLY BABY QUILT PATTERN THAT WILL SHOW OFF THESE BEAUTIFUL FABRICS???  LINKS ARE APPRECIATED!  :)

Edit:  I started this post on Monday and since then, my best friend had a big surprise, 5 weeks early!!!  Mom and Baby are doing good, but please lift up this tiny precious one in your prayers; for continual growth, improving health, and no complications!  Prayers are powerful!  (CONGRATS BESTIE!!!!  I LOVE YOUR SWEET, GROWING FAMILY!!!)
